SUMMARY:AIA's Food for Thought: IBC 2009 Addressing Special Inspections Code Compliance
DESCRIPTION:AIA’s Food for Thought: IBC 2009 Addressing Special Inspections Code Compliance\n \nOnline registration is available until: 12/11/2015\nRegister » \nDETAILS \nFood for Thought\nSponsored by: Froehling and Robertson\nLHC Structural Engineers \nTitle: IBC 2009\nAddressing Special Inspections Code Compliance\nDescription: This presentation addresses the special inspections and tests required by IBC 2009\, Chapter 17\, and Section 1704 as well as the specific “enforcer” codes such as ACI 318\, ACI 530\, AISC 360\, and AWS D1.1 that actually make the IBC 2009 code work. IBC uses these “enforcer” codes and hundreds of ASTM and ACI standards to govern the inspection and testing of construction methods and construction materials. One of the purposes of the presentation is to take the presentation attendee out to the construction project with the special inspector and witness the special inspections. \nObjectives:\n • To discuss the IBC 2009 Building Code\, Chapter 17\, and the “Special Inspections” required by IBC 2009\, Chapter 17 as well as the major code changes in the transition to the IBC 2009 code cycle.\n• To explore some of the primary ancillary ASTM and ACI standards and “enforcer” codes that comprise the basic CODE structure used to enforce IBC 2009 and statewide CODE compliance.\n• To briefly discuss the dramatic code changes related to structural steel special inspections due to AISC 360-10 which replaced AISC 360-05.\n• To address the IBC code required “Statement of Special Inspections” and the importance of the primary concrete\, masonry\, and steel enforcer codes which make the IBC 2009 building code work. \nCE Credit:\n1 HSW \nFor catering purposes\, we ask that you please inform AIA Triangle if your plans change. If you register and do not attend\, you will be charged the $25 Non Member fee. Cancellations need to be emailed at least one day in advance.
