Challenge

When MANN+HUMMEL decided to open up their North Carolina Innovation Center (NCIC), they knew the space needed to reflect their brand and work style. It needed to be inspiring, bold, and provide the team with the ability to collaborate in a casual space, but still offer some options for privacy as the headcount rises.

Technology was also important. With 50+ offices around the world – from Argentina to Japan – MANN+HUMMEL required paramount technical capabilities to effectively communicate with their international counterparts.

Solution

Media:scape is reshaping the way people collaborate in a connected world.  For MANN+HUMMEL, the employees in the Raleigh office are now able to access and share digital information equally, quickly and seamlessly within their own office as well as around the globe. The new integrated technology has allowed the teams to be more efficient and engaged because collaboration is now uninterrupted, teams require less time to get into flow and can build on each other’s ideas more swiftly.

Storr provided other collaboration areas that seem to be a favorite among the employees. The Campfire lounge allows the team to step away from a computer screen, to mingle and mind-meld, or to have an informal meeting with some privacy from the campfire screens.

When considering a bench solution, it’s important to understand the levels of mobility and collaboration required and adjust the solution accordingly. FrameOne benching is designed for exactly that purpose. Because of its flexible design, the MANN+HUMMEL team can easily adjust their FrameOne workstations as business and privacy needs change.

Overall, MANN+HUMMEL was looking for an open concept with a hint of privacy. Both the Nemo Trellis and Privacy Walls encourage collaboration and connection while creating a sense of place in an open space. With its funky architectural presence, the Nemo Trellis offers a hint of enclosure without shutting anyone out. The Privacy Walls allow the space to feel open while still providing the appropriate level of audible privacy.
