UNC Friday Center
Challenge
The UNC Friday Center needed a cost effective design to transform their existing lounge areas. They needed a team that could bring in furniture and flooring, while also providing design planning and project management. After previous renovations, it was time to create something more exciting that met specific aesthetic and environment objectives for both furniture and flooring.
Solution
Storr provided a variety of furniture pieces, combining dramatic options with traditional, easy to move pieces. Lounge chairs and couches, like Cobi and Reno, provide a stylish casual space, whereas Circa and Enea encourage mobility and collaboration. Modular options create a collaborative environment that can easily be changed to fit various needs.
One of Storr’s biggest draws was the design services. The design team set up a contemporary, comfortable space for these lounge areas, handpicking every piece and finish, while keeping budget in mind. Storr also provided the Friday Center with new commercial flooring. Storr’s flooring solution was a custom built product to meet the space’s high demands (color, durability, etc.). Over 8,000 sq yds of Tandus carpet tiles were installed with fantastic results.
Storr built a strong relationship that encouraged more collaboration and business together. After completion of this project, we are continuing to work on more spaces and design projects for the UNC Friday Center.
