“I can’t stress enough the flexibility, work ethic and professionalism of the Storr team and what they have done with both managing and following through. The disruption to the business has been non-existent.”

Valeant
Challenge
Valeant, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, was moving their U.S. headquarters into a brand new space, consolidating from two buildings into one in order to improve collaboration between teams and departments. Not only did Valeant request a more functional, fresh furniture solution, but they also needed a strong partner to oversee the success of this massive project. This partner would need to work closely with local construction unions which have very specific regulations and requirements, work around a complicated construction schedule, meet very strict deadlines, and stay within budget.
Solution
As Valeant’s selected partner, Storr’s team first met with the project team to create various options to present to the leadership team. Through programming and product knowledge, Storr was able to produce a successful design that incorporated some of the traditional elements Valeant was accustomed to as well as modern features to create a modern facility that will grow with them. Through finishes and design features, this space is aesthetically pleasing and provide the Valeant team with the function to remain organized and efficient.
Using the approved design, Storr proactively established a thorough project schedule and communication plan to overcome the many unique challenges this project presented. Each week, Storr attended construction meetings with the property management, general contractor, and design firm to discuss the progress of the project and to ensure everyone knew what was expected each week.
Storr had a project manager onsite for over 15 weeks to provide coordination, logistical support, and oversight of the entire project. This onsite presence ensured accuracy throughout each phase, resulting in .07% punch, with absolutely no design or installation related issues.
In order to meet the tight deadlines of each phase, Storr’s team partnered with a local Steelcase dealer who operated in shifts, both day and night, working around several other trades.
What could have been a logistical nightmare for another partner, turned out to be an extremely successful project due to Storr’s proactive approach in providing Valeant with an amazing space and exceptional service. Storr was able to deliver a fresh, functional space for Valeant’s growing team, remaining on time, within budget, and meeting every single deliverable. This is one of many projects that proves Storr is capable of taking on some of the largest, more challenging projects anywhere within the country.
