The holiday season invites us to pause and reflect on what matters most—our connections, our communities, and the impact we can make when we come together. As we look ahead to a new chapter for Storr, we’re reminded of the strength of the relationships that shape our work and inspire us to give back in meaningful ways.

We’re honored to continue our Holiday Donation Gift tradition with you. Instead of traditional gifts, Storr will donate $100 on your behalf to an organization of your choosing. Whether you feel called to support local efforts, regional initiatives, or global causes, your selection helps extend hope, support, and opportunity to those who need it most.

Impacting Youth

Backpack Buddies

A part of Inter‑Faith Food Shuttle’s effort to fight childhood hunger in our region. BackPack Buddies delivers kid-friendly, pre-packed weekend meals to children experiencing food insecurity ensuring that when school meals aren’t available, these kids still have nutritious food over the weekend.

The Institute for Developing Young Leaders (IDYL) School

IDYL provides a rigorous, stimulating comprehensive educational experience that promotes school success for every child by addressing social, emotional and mental wellness and fostering a strong sense of community. We provide a high standards learning environment that promotes academic and leadership skills and content mastery. IDYL was started to help minority students move from oppression to opportunity. Storr partners with IDYL throughout the year to help with fundraising, tutoring, and special events.

SAFEChild

SAFEchild, which stands for Stop Abuse For Every child, supports families having a wide range of needs. They are the only organization in Wake County that offers a full range of child abuse prevention and intervention services to children and families at no cost. SAFEchild annually protects over 15,000 children through our school-based Funny Tummy Feelings program and supports and educates 1,650 parents and caregivers through our parenting programs.

Raleigh Rescue Mission

Raleigh Rescue Mission is a Christian organization that helps rebuild the lives of homeless men, women and children in our community by ministering to their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. While at the Mission, our clients receive safe shelter, nourishing meals, counseling, medical care in our on-site medical clinic, substance abuse recovery services, educational, vocational and life skill classes in our on-site Adult Learning Center and childcare in our on-site, licensed preschool center to help them on their journey to recovery.

Durham Rescue Mission

The Durham Rescue Mission was founded in November 1974 by Dr. and Mrs. Ernie Mills with one goal in mind: to mend shattered lives by restoring families and giving hope in Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill. We’ve remained dedicated to this mission for the past 44 years. Today, our Durham homeless shelter and urban rescue mission has room to house and provide food, vocational and spiritual training, counseling and much more to 400 men, women and children in the Triangle area. Storr partners with the Durham Rescue Mission throughout the year on fundraising and special events.

Triangle American Heart Association

The American Heart Association, a non-profit organization in the United States, focuses on funding cardiovascular medical research, educating consumers about healthy lifestyles, and fosters appropriate cardiac care. Their ultimate goal is to minimize the impact of cardiovascular disease and stroke, reducing disability and preventing loss of life.

Hope Reins

At Hope Reins, we believe hurting people need hope, especially hurting kids. Thousands experience acute crisis in North Carolina every day. Their trauma is a result of difficulties like physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, neglect, violence, illness, or death of a loved one. With severe reductions in state-funded mental health and limited accessible services, hurting children and families in our region have few options to pursue healing. A child experiencing acute crisis needs the foundational elements of healthy relationship: safety and trust. Rescued horses have a unique way of connecting to these needs through their own stories of rescue and restoration. Through establishing a safe and caring relationship, a person of faith and a rescued horse can help the child begin the process of healing.

Victory Junction

Victory Junction is a year-round camp that provides life-changing experiences for children with serious illnesses and chronic medical conditions in a medically-safe and fun environment, always free of charge. Founded in honor of Adam Petty, the camp combines adaptive programming, such as summer camps and equine therapy, with outreach through its REACH initiative, bringing camp experiences to hospitals and clinics in the Carolinas. Since 2004, Victory Junction has served over 100,000 campers, emphasizing safety, empowerment, and inclusion to ensure every child feels valued and inspired.

Wounded Warrior Project

WWP provides free, lifelong support to post-9/11 wounded, ill, or injured veterans (and their families and caregivers). Services span mental and physical health care, benefits assistance, career and financial counseling, peer support, and long-term rehabilitative care all designed to help veterans recover, reconnect, and thrive long after service. Donations help ensure no warrior is left behind.

NC Community Foundation Disaster Relief

The North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund provides grants to nonprofits supporting long-term recovery, unmet needs, and community resilience in disaster-impacted areas across the state. It helps build stronger, better-prepared communities by addressing gaps left by other resources.

Habitat for Humanity of NC

Founded in 2008, Habitat NC facilitates increased housing production and neighborhood revitalization efforts by coordinating advocacy activities, providing training and technical support opportunities, aiding in disaster recovery, and engaging in resource development that benefits our affiliates statewide. We believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with our work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people.

World Vision International

World Vision is a global Christian humanitarian organization that helps children, families, and their communities reach their full potential by addressing the causes of poverty and injustice. We serve every child we can – of any faith or none.

Hope International

Hope International’s mission is to invest in the dreams of families in the world’s underserved communities through microfinance loans. We share the hope of Christ as we provide biblically based training, savings services, and loans that restore dignity and break the cycle of poverty. We believe families in poverty have the talents and skills to provide for their families. What they don’t have is a lump sum of money to invest in their potential—by paying school fees, saving for the future, or investing in businesses. Your donation will help HOPE provide opportunities for families living in underserved communities around the world.

Dare for More

Dare for More is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering women and children in crisis globally. Their initiatives include establishing safe houses and training centers, particularly in Guatemala, to provide essential support such as counseling, education, and job skills to help survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. The organization also advocates for spiritual and emotional restoration through Bible-based care and mentorship, creating lasting impacts in communities worldwide.
