In January, Storr had completed a $250,000 showroom renovation, and in March, shifted to working from home. In April the Senior Leadership Team decided Storr was going to be a leader in the industry in our return to work because they believed they could do it safely and that it was best for Storr’s customer’s and the overall health of its Team Members. Though there was concern, the team had already been accustomed to the Free Address work mode and smoothly transitioned back to the office in May. Through minimal adjustments to the existing space and metrics from Steelcase Workplace Advisor dashboard Storr had the real-time data they needed to provide socially distanced and safe settings for free address and resident workers and a variety of single and multi-person meeting areas.

Early on, they formed a Return-to-Work-Committee responsible for the planning, clear communication, team member engagement, and implementation of a phased return schedule. Protocols like health screenings, mask requirements, cleaning stations, clear signage, and space dividers all contributed to their successful return.

Today, Storr averages 60% capacity of our space, and have hosted over 100 showroom visitors since returning. Storr’s goal is to provide the safest space to meet their team members’ physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing and be thought leaders and pacesetters for their customers to help them navigate the return to the office. Storr’s Chief Operating Officer Becca Hand said it best: “We created the best ecosystem for team members to do their best work.”
