The Healthiest Employers Awards recognizes companies and nonprofits that commit to making wellness a priority while proactively shaping the health of their team members. To be eligible for this award, companies completed an online assessment and this non-biased measurement scored wellness programs in comparison to regional and national employers. Companies are ranked on six main components including leadership commitment, communication and marketing, foundation components, programming and interventions, strategic planning, and reporting and analysis.
Storr’s leadership takes great pride in helping its team members live healthy lifestyles. Storr Office Environments is constantly promoting the wellbeing of its team members through providing healthy snacks in the café, providing an in- house treadmill walk station, educational seminars presented by industry leaders, weight loss challenges, community races and walks, on site biometric screenings and flu-shots, and encouraging team members to be a part of Storr’s own health program, Fit Life.
Fit Life is a program started by Storr’s leadership team in 2012. This program challenges team members to focus on their health and wellbeing by including exercise and good nutrition into their daily routine. In return, participants can receive healthcare premium discounts, smoking cessation incentives up to $950, and cash incentives. Over the years, Storr has seen an increase in participation in the Fit Life program. In 2015, almost half of Storr’s team members participate in the program.
“Our weight loss incentive has impacted over a dozen lives; specifically, two individuals had a weight loss of more than 100 pounds each”, said HR Team Lead, Colleen Muldoon.
